Chips and crisps 'linked to low birth weight babies'

Pregnant women who eat vast amounts of chips and crisps could be harming their babies as most as smokers, a new European investigate suggests.

Women and babies from England, Denmark, Greece, Norway and Spain were tested for levels of a potentially poisonous chemical found in boiled potatoes.

It found babies from Bradford, who represented England, had a top levels and reduce birth weights.

The investigate was led by a Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology.

Researchers found infants innate to women with a high dietary intake of a chemical, called acrylamide,
