when a hurricane strikes. It is a little over-dramatised but you get the
idea.

03.20 All New York subways, buses and trains have completely halted but
that isn’t stopping some businesses from staying open. Richard Blackden
sends in this picture and tells us sandbags have been deployed outside the
doors of the Apple store.

02.55 Hurricane Sandy has decreased in speed, according to Reuters. Its
location is about 290 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and 470
miles south-southeast of New York City.
