Mark Thompson in spotlight at New York Times over Savile scandal

The incoming arch executive of a New York Times, Mark Thompson, is confronting new questions over what he knew about a Jimmy Savile paedophile liaison when he was executive ubiquitous of a BBC, amid apparent inconsistencies in his open statements.
