Tiger fined AU$110K for breaching Spam Act

Discount airline Tiger Airways has been handed an AU$110,000 fine, and has given an enforceable endeavour to a Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) for not permitting a business to unsubscribe from email mailing lists.

The ACMA pronounced that it had warned Tiger several times, and that a association had perceived steady complaints from business that a selling emails did not let business unsubscribe from a mailing list.

Tiger has given halted a selling campaign, re-engineered a unsubscribe trickery from a emails sent out, and lerned staff on correspondence with a Spam Act.
