Nick Clegg has given David Cameron a immature light to halt an inflation-busting arise in a EU bill after Brussels yesterday demanded another £12billion from British taxpayers.
The Deputy Prime Minister told a Cabinet it would ‘not be appropriate’ to concede Brussels a real-terms arise in spending during a time of austerity.
But in a pierce that Downing Street sources described as 'detached from reality', a European Commission and a European Parliament both yesterday demanded outrageous rises in a EU budget.
