More NSW beaches have been sealed as red algal blooms are speckled along most of a state’s coast.
Large streaks of red algae were speckled off North Wollongong beach on Thursday and Clovelly, Bronte and Tamarama beaches were all shut.
On a city’s northern beaches, Bilgola, Mona Vale, Palm Beach and Newport were also sealed due to outbreaks, while splashings of red algae were speckled during Newcastle.
‘We were out fishing during Stockton this morning and we came opposite a small bit out there,’ Newcastle Surf Life Saving Club boss Brad Kinniard told AAP.
