Blood test for bowel cancer in sight

A blood exam for bowel cancer is being trialled on 3000 patients, with 500 formula already in.

At a moment, screening relies on people returning sofa representation kits they accept in a mail.

The new blood exam has been grown by biotech association Clinical Genomics in partnership with a CSIRO and Flinders University in Adelaide.

It could be commercially accessible by late 2013.

Clinical Genomics arch executive Larry LaPointe says a initial formula support progressing clinical trials that found a blood exam rescued 76 per cent of cancers, with a low false-positive rate.
