India gang rape: New Year celebrations scaled back

The conflict has triggered an escape of annoy opposite India

India has scaled behind New Year celebrations, as it mourned a genocide of a lady whose squad rape on a train a fortnight ago sparked open outrage.

The army has cancelled all central celebrations as have a states of Punjab and Haryana.

The boss of a ruling Congress party, Sonia Gandhi, also pronounced she would not be celebrating.
