South Australians have figured prominently in the Australia Day 2013 Honours List.

Former Federal MP and Foreign Affairs Minister, Alexander Downer, is one of just four people appointed a Companion (AC) in the General Division of the Order of Australia.

Mr Downer is among 58 South Australians recognised in the General Division.

Ashley Walsh spoke to Mr Downer along with other Australia Day Award recipients Dick Olesinski (OAM) and 891 Evenings presenter Peter Goers (OAM).
