THE boss of the Yes Scotland campaign has told Nationalists not to panic after polls revealed flagging support for independence.
Blair Jenkins adopted the "Don't panic, don't panic" clarion call of Dads' Army's Corporal Jones to rally supporters.
The Scottish Social Attitudes Survey of 1229 people found just 23 per cent would vote yes – the lowest level since devolution in 1999.
But Jenkins said he remained calm.
The former BBC Scotland head of news said: "One of the best things about having worked in TV newsrooms for so long is that I never panic. That's one thing I never do.
"And there is no case for doing that during this campaign."
Jenkins said First Minister Alex Salmond also believed the campaign was going well.
He said: "Like me, he seems very confident and very bullish."
