Dale Cregan trial: 'police officers were murdered in hail of bullets'

Two unarmed women police officers were shot passed in a accost of bullets after a gunman lured them to a forged burglary, a justice has heard.

PC Fiona Bone, 32, and PC Nicola Hughes, 23, died within moments of nearing during a residence in Hattersley, Greater Manchester, final September.

Nicholas Clarke QC, prosecuting, told a jury during Preston climax justice that both officers were murdered by 29-year-old Dale Cregan during a finish of a four-month manhunt.

Cregan initial went on a run from military after a squad shot passed a father and son – both of them members of a opposition family – in Droylsden, easterly Manchester.
