'Desperate' workers to testify in abortion trial

PHILADELPHIA — A 2011 grand jury news on a bustling West Philadelphia termination hospital described patients being overmedicated, maimed and even killed during lax, long-unregulated procedures.

But prosecutors contend Dr. Kermit Gosnell also abused his low-paid staff, relying on untrained workers to anesthetize, prep and guard patients before he arrived during night to perform medicine – infrequently after operative during his other hospital in Delaware.

Gosnell, 72, is on hearing this month for 8 depends of murder, in a deaths of a studious and 7 babies allegedly innate alive. The second week of testimony starts Monday.
