NEW YORK (Reuters) – The euro steadied contra a dollar on Tuesday, holding above a four-month low strike a prior day, though remaining exposed to fears Cyprus’s banking problems might make investors evade euro section resources or repel income from banks in countries like Spain and Italy.
Worries over a fortitude of banks in those countries followed Cyprus’ proclamation on Monday that it would levy a levy on deposits above 100,000 euros in dual of Cyprus’ largest banks to assistance bind an EU bailout.
