The initial SMS was sent on Dec 3, 1992, when a 22-year-old British operative called Neil Papworth – an worker of a record association Sema – used his mechanism to send a summary ‘Merry Christmas’ to an Orbitel 901 mobile phone.
Texting has now surpassed a normal phone call as a many common process of staying in touch.
Speaking to Sky News, Mr Papworth pronounced he never envisaged that texting would be so popular.
